Public Open House #2 – July 2025

The project team shared draft recommendations for transit service enhancements across the study area. The recommendations, which cover approximately the next five years, were divided into near-term, mid-term, and long-term recommendations. Here is an overview of these timeframes:

  • Near-Term (1-2 years): Focuses on high-priority needs and cost-neutral improvements that can be implemented with existing resources.

  • Mid-Term (2-3 years): Includes initiatives requiring additional funding, resources, or agreements, making them less feasible in the near term.

  • Long-Term (4-5+ years): Involves complex initiatives dependent on external factors or multiple steps, often requiring more time even if they are high priority.

A presentation was given at the Beloit Public Library that summarized how riders will benefit from changes to the fixed-route system, a new route that will enhance east-west connectivity in the City of Beloit, microtransit service in the Gateway area, and a plan to continue to evaluate regional service in the area.

The feedback from the public was very positive and is being used to finalize the final TDP study report.

Public Open House #1 – February 2025

The project team shared key findings from our existing conditions study and, more importantly, received feedback from the public. From frequent transit riders to occasional users and people who don't use transit but want to learn more, everyone's input is valuable.

At this open house, we discussed the challenges you face when riding transit in the area, the service issues you would like to see addressed, and your vision for an improved regional transit system. We heard the community's thoughts on amenities such as bus stops/shelters and improved sidewalks, and on improvements such as more frequent service and enhanced service connections.

This feedback will help shape the future of transit in our area, ensuring it meets the needs of all residents.
