Beloit Transit System (BTS), along with Janesville Transit (JT), jointly operate 12 weekday round trips between Janesville and Beloit along the Beloit-Janesville Express (BJE) route.
BTS and JT, along with the Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation (GBEDC), conducted the BJE study to identify and evaluate opportunities to enhance transit connectivity between Beloit and Janesville, with the goal to get more people to jobs, health care, and other essential services within the region.
The study proposed route redesigns that enhance connections to key regional destinations, including potentially connecting to the future Ho-Chunk Casino.
About
The BJE study is being conducted in partnership between Beloit Transit System (BTS), Janesville Transit (JT), and the Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation (GBEDC). The study began in July and included an analysis of existing conditions and stakeholder engagement later that fall. Proposed route and service changes were considered through the remainder of the study. The following graphic highlights some key milestones with the anticipated project timeline.
